    Kunshan Hospital has more than 100 operating theatres, 220 general consultation rooms and 1,800 beds.

    At full capacity, the hospital can receive 20,000 patients per day and treat 7,000 emergency cases.

    The hospital is currently in need of renovation of some of its outdated areas.

    As a specialist in the healthcare sector, Farfly was specified for the hospital's office and pediatric inpatient flooring.

    Farfly selected the Bonize range of medical homogeneous vinyl flooring and 3D-printed custom flooring for the hospital.

    We needed a solution that was particularly antimicrobial, hard-wearing, iodine-resistant and sustainable. That's why we chose the Bonize range. In addition, as there are children's wards here, we also considered a variety of patterns to make it less stressful for the children. We chose 3D-printed customised floors.

    These floors are environmentally friendly, formaldehyde-free, hard-wearing, waterproof and stain-resistant, with TVOC emissions of less than 20 μg/m3 after 28 days, which ensures the quality of the air in the room. Another important advantage is that the medical homogeneous vinyl floors are finished with an extremely wear-resistant top layer. This ensures a long service life and simple, economical cleaning, even with high-frequency use. It is also 100% antimicrobial (EN ISO 22196) and antiviral (ISO 21702). It has a fire rating of class B1, plus a wide range of colors. It makes the overall style of the hospital more warm and loving.

    When installing, we unfolded the flooring and laid it flat for 2 days. Let the floor fully adapt to the temperature of the environment.

    When the glue was applied, we noticed the humidity of the air and the temperature of the room, and it took a longer time to wait for the glue to reach the best state.

    In addition, the installation was done with antibacterial in mind, so the workers installed the flooring 10cm from the wall to allow the flooring to achieve a more antibacterial effect.

     This project was fully completed on 30th October 2024.
