How to install PVC commercial flooring roll on stairs?

Mar 15 , 2024

Installing PVC commercial flooring rolls on stairs requires careful planning and execution to ensure a secure and professional installation. Here's a step-by-step guide to installing PVC commercial flooring rolls on stairs:

Prepare the Stairs:

Ensure that the stairs are clean, dry, and free from any debris or protrusions.

Remove any existing flooring material or adhesive residue from the stairs.

Check the stairs for any damage or uneven surfaces and make any necessary repairs.

Measure the Stairs:

Measure the dimensions of each stair tread and riser accurately using a measuring tape.

Record the measurements for each step, including the width and length of the tread and the height of the riser.

Cut the Flooring Rolls:

Roll out the PVC commercial flooring material and lay it flat on a clean surface.

Use the measurements taken in step 2 to cut pieces of the flooring material to the appropriate size for each stair tread and riser.

Use a sharp utility knife or flooring cutter to make clean, straight cuts. Ensure that the cuts are accurate and fit the dimensions of the stairs.

Apply Adhesive:

Use a squeegee or adhesive applicator to spread adhesive evenly over the stairs.

Follow the our instructions regarding adhesive type, coverage, and drying time.

Install the Flooring:

Starting from the bottom of the stairs, place the cut pieces of PVC commercial flooring onto the stair treads and risers, pressing them firmly into place.

Ensure that the flooring material is aligned properly and fits snugly against the edges of the stairs.

Use a hand roller or weighted roller to press the flooring material firmly against the stairs, ensuring good adhesion and eliminating any air bubbles or wrinkles.

Trim Excess Material:

Once all stair treads and risers are covered with the PVC flooring material, trim any excess material along the edges of the stairs using a sharp utility knife or flooring cutter.

Ensure that the cuts are clean and precise for a professional finish.

Clean Up:

Once the installation is complete and the adhesive has dried, clean the stairs to remove any adhesive residue or debris.

Dispose of any leftover materials and tools properly.

By following these steps, you can successfully install PVC commercial flooring rolls on stairs, providing a durable and attractive flooring solution for your commercial space. If you're unsure about any aspect of the installation process, consider consulting with a professional installer or Farfly staff for guidance.
